This position leads and manages Tyson's Global Financial Reporting group within our Corporate Accounting Group. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles GAAP as well as SEC and FASB rules and regulations in financial reports, company records and material transactions. Additionally, this position is responsible for producing accurate financial statements and disclosures in required SEC periodic filings as well as other external and governmental reports and releases in addition to management reporting packages.

The areas of responsibility include global consolidations accounting, external financial reporting, technical accounting, intercompany accounting, and benefits accounting. This position also works closely with the business unit finance and accounting leaders in a number of areas and also responsible for supporting or driving projects including mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions and ad-hoc projects. The candidate must rely upon experience and judgment to plan and accomplish projects in a timely manner including the ability to work under tight deadlines. The candidate must have excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills as well as GAAP and SEC reporting knowledge. Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential to this position in order for the candidate to work collaboratively with others throughout the Company, various departments and peers across Tyson, and with various third parties. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with various levels in the organization and being a champion of Tyson's mission, core values, and team behaviors (the 5 Cs) are critical.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Requires broad knowledge in general professional or technical field. Also requires a Bachelor's degree in an academic field directly related and essential to this position Accounting or Finance degree preferred.

Experience: 12 plus years' experience in either private or public accounting; experience in Big 4 public accounting firm at the senior manager level preferred; international business experience a plus.

Computer Skills: Requires advanced computer skills; must have working ability with Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and ability to perform technical research using various research tools; some working knowledge of SAP preferred.

Communication Skills: Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills are essential to work with all levels of management peers and subordinates.

Special Skills: Significant in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and transactional accounting processes are required. CPA designation preferred; must also have excellent analytical skills and good leadership skills. Project management skills are preferred.

Supervisory: Responsible for managing several groups of personnel who perform diverse tasks and activities in more than one department.

Travel: 4 plus domestic trips per year; possibility of international travel.
