Job Description:
Description What is this job about? We’re seeking a passionate
and organized teacher to design and deliver individualized
instructional programs that help students build language, academic,
social, and vocational skills. In this role, you'll lead both group
and one-on-one instruction, manage classroom behavior plans, guide
teaching assistants, and track student progress daily. You’ll
collaborate closely with BCBAs, administration, and families to
ensure each student’s goals and curriculum are current and
effective. Make a lasting impact by helping students grow and
succeed every day! Some of your responsibilities would include:
Develop and implement individualized academic and ABA-based lesson
plans. Deliver 1:1 ABA therapy and ensure accurate data collection
on all student programs. Supervise teaching assistants, ensuring
adherence to procedures and paperwork completion. Maintain a clean,
safe, and engaging learning environment. Assist students with daily
self-help skills as needed. Participate in crisis situations when
required. Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and IEP
documentation. Communicate daily with parents/guardians and report
updates to the Director. Model professional and appropriate
behavior for teaching assistants. Escort students to classes and
off-campus activities. Stay current on required training including
CPR, First Aid, and Behavior Intervention. Follow all agency
policies, procedures, and mandated reporting requirements. Remain
punctual, dependable, and flexible in daily duties. What do I need
to be qualified for this position? Required: Bachelor’s degree from
an accredited college or university. Required: Valid Missouri
Special Education Teaching Certificate (Provisional Certificate

Qualifications TEACHER DEFINITION The teacher is responsible for
planning, organizing, and implementing individualized instructional
programs that guide and encourage students to develop language and
academic skills. The teacher is responsible for the day to day
implementation, monitoring, and data tracking of individual
instruction, group instruction, social skills development, outings,
and pre-vocational and vocational skills. The teacher is
responsible for the management of classroom behavior programs as
well as managing teaching assistants. The teacher also works with
the BCBAs and administration to update student goals and
curriculums. Parent or guardian communication is required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Implement Academic Lesson Plans and Applied
Behavior Analysis (ABA) – based therapy programs along with the
BCBA Develop lesson plans based on approved curriculum; turn in
weekly lesson plans to the appropriate supervisor Adhere to the
tenants of ABA Deliver 1:1 ABA – based therapy to students Take
precise and accurate data on academic and ABA-based programs
Complete all current programs during Discrete Trial Training or
other approved ABA strategy Use current and best practice teaching
strategies that align with the principles of ABA Supervise TAs
working with students as well as their completion of paperwork and
adherence to agency policies Participate as needed in crises Teach
all assigned students regardless of their location Maintain a
clean, safe, and stimulating environment for all students Assist
with daily self-help skills with students when necessary Interact
with students whenever and however appropriate Participate during
in-service days Maintain accurate records to provide information
for daily communication, progress reports, IEPs, etc. Write
progress reports, IEPs, etc. Monitor and maintain up-to-date
professional development training Abide by all agency policies and
procedures Discuss with teacher assistants daily procedures
regarding schedules, morning news, correcting papers, etc. Be
observant, report all unusual circumstances, incidences, or
situations/accidents to Director Maintain daily communication with
the students’ parents and/or guardians. Keep Director informed of
daily communication in addition to other communication with parents
and/or guardians. Model appropriate and expected behavior for
teaching assistants. Escort children to class and off campus
activities Report suspected abuse or neglect to the Director and
appropriate authorities as a Mandated Reporter Accurately report
and record observations. Communicate effectively in oral and
written form. Stand, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs, and pull and push
items. Pass with satisfactory performance CPR, First Aid, Behavior
Intervention training and ABA training. Maintain a record of
punctuality and attendance. A licensed and insured driver, with
ability to obtain a Missouri Class E driver license Training
Requirements 1. Successfully complete a course in Cardio-Pulmonary
Resuscitation. 2. Successfully complete a course in First Aid. 3.
Successfully complete a 16 hours course in Medication
Administration. 4. Successfully complete a 10 course in MANDT
System Workshop 5. Successfully complete a course in OSHA
regulations on Health and Safety. 6. Successfully complete a 2
hours course in proper use of lifts, seat belts and tie downs.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree
from an accredited college. Special Education Certificate in the
State of Missouri is required; however, a Provisional Special
Education Certificate in the State of Missouri will be
considered.
