Job Description:

The Softlines Product Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all stages of apparel development for assigned product lines and distribution channels, from product inception; as well as managing production from receipt of order to shipment of product. -This position will be committed to assisting with the growth of our business through the successful implementation of product life management in regard to competitive and value-driven garments that will thrive in the marketplace.

Product Management - Manage the assigned product lines for the softlines category; including but not limited to the following:
Create and manage development control sheets
Tech pack management
Ensure hangtags and technical specifications are current and appropriate
Procuring timely and accurate samples
Collaborate in managing item costing
Evaluate pre-production samples and packaging to ensure quality in production
Manage production tracker for softlines team
Work as a team with the International office and management to resolve production issues as they arise.
Customer relations.
Compliance and Testing - Ensure products are developed in compliance with pertinent regulations and laws and that products are developed to applicable testing standards. -As well as maintain and have knowledge of testing standards as it relates to the customer requirements to ensure that we are compliant. Ensure execution of production in compliance with these requirements.
Manage testing processes for assigned product lines. -This is accomplished by working closely with 3rd party testing facilities for any domestic testing needs, working with our International -office to ensure all required testing is completed in a timely manner, keeping all informed of testing procedures and guidelines, and assisting in troubleshooting testing failures as they arise.
Market Research - Be well-versed in the marketplace, identifying trends and identifying market opportunities with consideration to the value proposition, company strategies, and financial objectives.
Presentation of Apparel Line: -Must be fully knowledgeable about assigned product lines in order to assist the team in "selling" the products to the sales team during seasonal product turnover meetings.
Drive quality craftsmanship by working with the International team to keep all manufacturers informed of all quality and/or fit issues that may come up throughout the season.
Garment Labeling - Creation and approval of garment labeling, such as care labels, country of origin identifiers, and tracking labels. -Requires detailed knowledge of the legal requirements associated with apparel labeling.
Assist in monitoring and managing the production of products and ensure that we meet deadlines while still maintaining the product quality. -Must manage and have a strong understanding of timelines and production schedules to help product teams during each season.
Ensure we are following customer guidelines related to product quality, packaging, testing, and compliance. This is done by staying up to date on customer requirements, communicating those requirements to the team, and then following up with all product orders to ensure execution.
Identify and drive the production package process to make sure all production items (price tickets, UPC's & production-related tags) are neatly pulled together and communicated to the International office.
The duties listed above are the key duties of a Softlines Product Manager but are not limited to these duties. The company may expand them as it deems necessary to meet the needs of the company and its sales efforts.

Minimum 2+ years' verifiable work-related experience
Strong ability to manage to a timeline; meeting deadlines while managing multiple projects
Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, extreme attention to detail and follow up
Works effectively both individually and within a team atmosphere
Self-starter/ problem solver
Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel is required
Understanding of patternmaking and garment construction is a plus, but not required
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus, but not required
Experience in Centric PLM is a plus, but not required
