POSITION OBJECTIVES:This position exists to oversee, manage and administrate Visit Bentonville's destination marketing, communication, creative services departments, coordination of publicity and communication efforts, oversight of websites, social media and creative services, marketing campaigns, advertising and promotion for Visit Bentonville. - -In addition, oversees and manages day to day communications team. He/she must perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner. -At the Visit Bentonville, we value personal character and ethical behavior to attain our mission.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Marketing and CommunicationsDirects, develops, enhances and monitors websites and digital/social channels and works directly the website host provider and related firms as well as assigned creative services staff. -- -Collaborates with President / Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with the strategic operations of technology to identify technology solutions that will help achieve the organization's marketing mission; continue to evolve and improve the use of technologies, systems and innovations as they relate to marketing and communication.-- -Oversees leisure advertising and marketing as it pertains to the destination product.-- -Tracks and analyzes marketing and communication data through Voyage and campaigns reports. -- -Attends and participates in professional group meetings and trainings; stays abreast of new trends and innovations to maintain and improve marketing effectiveness.-- -Develops, directs and manages the budget for key elements of digital marketing, including web design and maintenance, hosting, search engine optimization and other online advertising-- -Innovates new ways to increase overall awareness of Visit Bentonville through media and marketing initiatives. -- -Manages and leads in the development of communication material, including brochures, flyers, press releases, information pamphlets, media announcements, public presentation materials, and other promotion/public information materials needed to promote and provide information -- -Assigns, directs, prioritizes, monitors, and reviews the work activities of assigned staff.-- -Oversees the publicity and communications efforts of Visit Bentonville, including media relations, social media, travel writers, digital influencers, editorial and special publicity campaigns-- -Oversees FAM tours, bureau sponsored activities and other related activities as assigned by the President. -- -Responsible for collateral purchasing, creative design, and distribution -- -Maintains and develops information channels for visitors and residents regarding events and activities-- -Assists in development of strategic business plan, annual report and marketing strategy and plan

  • Oversees and participates in the development and administration of the annual Marketing and Communications budget; directs the forecast of additional funds needed to ensure adequate staffing levels, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitors and approves expenditures; directs the preparation and implementation of budget adjustments as necessary.
  • Prepares narrative and statistical reports for the Advertising and Promotion Commission and the President / Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
  • Implements the goals, objectives, and directives and oversees special projects sponsored activities as assigned by the President / Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
  • Coordinates tourism information to local hotels and attractions on request; maintains contacts with partners and stakeholders through newsletters, telephone calls, or email, etc.; serves as a liaison to the hotel community and hospitality industry plus niche markets; group tours, meetings, sports, leisure and bike
  • Oversees and manages public relations software and distributes monthly reports for commissioners and staff
  • Oversees and compiles information and assisting with production of annual reports with President-- -Assists with proof reading publications and brochures as assigned.-- -Establishes information channels for visitors and Bentonville residents about current and upcoming local events and activities-- -Developing direct response strategies that respond to market trends in direct mail, print catalogs and website.
    • Tracks, analyzes, graphs and reports for promotions and advertising data
    • Plans and implements new programs, policies and methods to ensure efficient and effective operation
    • Manages and guides marketing and communication staff full and part-time - -REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: - - -Knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing and communications - -Knowledge of a cross-section of business disciplines, including sales, marketing, hospitality industry operations, and business communications.
      • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
      • Knowledge of market research methods and techniques.
      • Knowledge of budget processes
      • Knowledge of computer fundamentals and business software, including database, Internet, and spreadsheet
      • Skill in computer operations in a Windows environment and database sales software applications.
      • Ability to communicate and work well with others in a professional office environment
      • Ability to handle multiple priorities
      • Ability to develop, monitor, and implement policies and procedures
      • Ability to learn specialized industry software
      • Ability to foster and develop relationships with industry leaders and develop information channels for visitors
      • Ability to design and analyze communication platforms, marketing products, and events
      • Ability to conduct market research and analyze and interpret research findings
      • Ability to compile data and prepare narrative and statistical correspondence, reports, and presentations
      • Ability to plan, direct, and assign the work activities for staff
      • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally, with individuals and groups, and in writingSKILLS PREFERRED: College Degree -Perform other duties as may be assigned -
