The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the streamlined operation of an IT department and to ensure it aligns with the business objectives of the organization. The principal goal is to manage the relationship with key stakeholders within the Business and IT and to attain all service level agreements for the user community within the organization.

This position requires a high proficiency in leadership, problem solving, and ability to influence others. The Director will plan, coordinate, direct, and direct strategic initiatives that enhance and enable strategic business capabilities. The Director will work closely with technology groups and Staff Architecture to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for analyzing the needs of IT and Business Stakeholders and establishing priorities for system design and implementation.
  • Understanding, aligning and driving the organization's strategic goals and objective.
  • Recommend and develop plans for: solutions development and operations, hardware, software and equipment purchases, budget, and staffing.
  • Implements appropriate risk prevention methods with the needed vigilance and resiliency to improve the organization's ability to prevent, detect and correct critical risk issues with integrated systems and processes.
  • Negotiate and contract with consultants, technical personnel and vendors for services and products.
  • Has strong experience and knowledge of financial management and budget management concepts.
  • Responsible for the personnel administration of IT resources both internal and external - interview, hire and train employees, plan, assign and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees for performance, address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Make formal and informal presentations to Tyson executive management.
  • Must provide direction to vendors and stay current on the latest technologies of the systems supported by the organization to assist in the future planning of necessary IT initiatives.
  • Responsible for overall quality of solutions supporting the business.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to support buy verses build decisions.
  • Design and implement training plans for team members as well as mentor their professional development.
  • An emerging talent champion with an ability and focus on acquiring and growing talent across an organization, leading senior managers, managers, and professionals to achieve strategic direction.
    Requirements:

    Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience; Master's degree, preferred

    Experience:
    • 12+ year of experience in a technology related area.
    • 5+ years as Sr Manager or Director of Technology
    • Executive level presentation skills that allows individual to build and sell ideas to the business based on data driven details and prior hands on experience.
    • 5+ years of hands on development experience
    • 5+ years of defining and driving future focused architectures.
    • Demonstrated experience with engaging/partnering with business leadership as Technology Thought Leader
      Computer Skills: Technical knowledge of hardware and software platforms; knowledge of current technology developments and trends

      Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with customers, peers, and management required. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required. Provide constructive feedback to other team members
