Skills/Experience: Greets patients by name. Introduces self to
patients. Provides thorough explanation of procedures to patients.
Efficiently performs procedures. Uses good judgment with add-on
cases to meet patient and department needs without disrupting the
schedule. Understands safe and proper machine operation. Knows
machine emergency procedures and radiation safety procedures.
Demonstrates technical proficiency in producing diagnostic images.
Recognizes technical abnormalities. Selects appropriate techniques
for each procedure. Positions patients according to department
protocol. Prepares and stocks rooms for various exams. Checks
equipment between patients and orders supplies as needed. Cleans
rooms and equipment between patients, including waiting areas.
Alters routine procedures based on patient condition as needed.
Makes appropriate changes in the computer system, including exams
and submitting charges. Assists in the transportation of patients
and specimens. Assists the radiologist or performing physician with
interventional procedures, including routine and emergency
procedures. Maintains sterile technique and sterile fields during
procedures. Positions and immobilizes patients. Demonstrates
ability to perform exams on outpatients, inpatients, ICU, and ER
patients, including trauma patients. Obtains appropriate clinical
history and documents information. Seeks informed consent when
necessary. Correctly obtains and administers contrast materials for
patient exams. Timely sends all images to the RIC. Description:
This position includes interactions with patients throughout their
care. The technician is responsible for ensuring patient comfort
and safety during procedures. Technical proficiency in diagnostic
imaging is essential for this role. The technician will work
collaboratively with a healthcare team to provide exceptional
