Certifications: BLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: Critical thinking
skills, ability to work with minimal supervision Description:
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established
policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and
communicates patient conditions as appropriate. Serves as a primary
coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and
coordinates patients' discharge planning needs with members of the
healthcare team. Work requires critical thinking skills and
decisive judgment. Ability to work in a stressful environment.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as
required. The unit serves adult patients with cardiopulmonary and
neuro overflow needs. The unit is supported by patient care
technicians and healthcare unit coordinators. Utilization of
virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor techs to
monitor those on telemetry. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6.
