Job Description Job Description Summary of Position: The piper
is responsible for mounting all major components, installing
interconnecting piping, soldering and pressure testing for
commercial/industrial HVAC & refrigeration equipment. Essential
Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be

clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and
regulations. Read and understand engineering drawings and
instructions. Read and understand bills of material. Operate pipe
cutters, threaders, torch, and all equipment required. Solder.
Check work and ensure quality. Match equipment serial numbers to
engineering drawing/bill of materials ensuring 100% accuracy. Sign
off all administrative paperwork when job is completed. Locate all
equipment, tools, and parts needed for job. Determine appropriate
unit layout based on engineering drawing and equipment
functionality. Maneuver in and around unit and sustain awkward
positions in order to accurately place components on unit. Layout
equipment so that all parts are easily serviceable. Contribute to
team effort by working with others and accomplishing related
functions as needed. Complete any task as assigned by supervisor as
needed. Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies
and company procedures. Work overtime as necessary. Attend work as
required. Arrive for work on time. Charge time accurately in time
and attendance system on computer to ensure accurate labor
distribution and payroll. Follow manufacturing instructions, work
by oneself without constant supervision, be self-motivated and
complete job assignments on time. Care for tools and equipment.
Advise maintenance of equipment that is not working properly. Clean
work area as required. Desired Qualifications: Education &
Experience: A high school level of education is preferred for this
position in order to continue upward advancement in the company.
The employee must be able to understand directions from superiors.
Skills: Effective communications skills, good listening skills,
ability to read and comprehend written instructions, basic
mathematical skills, including the ability to read a tape measure
down to 1/16 of an inch, ability to control operations of equipment
or system, monitoring/assessing performance of yourself, other
individuals or organization to make improvements or take corrective
action, good people skills in order to work in teams with others in
the organization. Certificates, licenses or training: on-site
training Level/grade: 1 – Beginning level piper meets minimal
quality standards, needs more time to complete work than estimated
for job 2 – Proficient level piper meets quality standards, able to
complete work within estimated hours for job 3 – Proficient level
piper meets quality standards, able to complete work in less time
than estimated for job Interaction with Others: Answers to Final
Assembly Supervisor. Must be able to accurately receive, understand
and follow instructions from supervisor/lead. It is essential that
the employee be able to work with all employees of the RAE team and
show a spirit of cooperation with others in the organization. To
accomplish this teamwork, it is important that the employee be able
to get along well with coworkers and be willing to ask and to
answer questions as needed. Working Environment: Work is performed
in an industrial production area for a manufacturer of
refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The employee is constantly
exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in
the work environment is high in some areas. Exposed to extreme
temperatures in both winter and summer. Possible stress caused by
the pressure of meeting deadlines and product quality standards and
seasonal variations in hours worked based on production demands.

Requirements: Sustained use of eyesight for functions such as
visual inspection, reading, measuring and operating hand tools,
along with the ability to see objects and detect motion at wide
angles (peripheral vision) in order to maintain employee safety,
ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. safety
glasses, hearing protection), substantial movement of wrist, hands,
fingers. Type of Position: Full-Time Hourly position 6-4:30 M-F
