Job DetailsJob LocationMiami, OK - Miami, OKJob ShiftAnyDescriptionRed Collar Pet Foods is looking for a Packaging Utility Operator to join our exciting new pet food business at one of our manufacturing plants. They may also function as a relief operator when needed.The Role: The Packaging Operator position is responsible and accountable for assuring all finished product is packaged according to proper specifications and standards. Key Responsibilities:Operate within specified efficiency/productivity standards based on formulation and packaging capability and within established finished product specifications for each formula.Perform packaging evaluation checks as required, and maintain accurate documentation as defined by site requirements. Perform packaging equipment adjustments and preventative maintenance activities as required to assure finished packages are in compliance with specifications and standards.Perform sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule with particular attention to lockout/tag out and confined space entry when required Assist the plant to meet or exceed production goals Participate and adhere to all food safety requirements, quality management processes, and site safety programs to ensure that all standards are met.Maintain a clean, safe work environment that promotes associate safety and product integrityAll associates are responsible for the safety, quality and food safety in their work areaOther duties and responsibilities as assignedBucket and elevator inspectionsBucket and elevator cleaningLOTO of all equipment in packing area and skills assessmentsKey Functional Skills/KnowledgeStanding on a concrete floorWearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55 lbs. Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes, such as hot to cold, dust, dirt and chemicalsTeam playerAction orientedProblem solving abilitiesStrong communication skills Continuous self-developmentMust be capable of working at elevated heights and or confined spaceWearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55 lbs.Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicalsKnowledge of local, federal, and industry regulations with regards to: Food Safety (GMP, HACCP), Food Quality (Product and Process)Q&FS testing practices and procedures, QMP polices and SPCForklift assignments require OSHA certification and getting on and off frequentlyQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Be 18 years of age or olderStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude and minimal supervisionHigh school diploma or equivalentGood basic math, reading and writing skillsBasic knowledge of personal computersGood problem solving and/or troubleshooting skillsWorking knowledge of Safety, Quality and Material Management Systems and proceduresAbility to read and understand the daily production run schedule, and execute to that planAbility to communicate to managers and team members any production, quality/food safety or other business critical information vital to operations and customer service Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedulesAbility to understand and effectively communicate in the English languageSuccessful completion of a substance screening and background checkPreferred Qualifications:3+ years of manufacturing experience operating a variety of machines2 years of work experience within manufacturing, or a technical and/or trade disciplineDemonstrated competency in computer and pc software including MS Office and emailKnowledge of inventory control principlesAbility to operate a forklift/OSHA certificationExperience with JD EdwardsRed Collar Pet Foods is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
