Responsibilities: Yard Production Workers perform multiple job duties. They work to ensure that the overall maintenance of the facility is performed. This includes manual labor such as sorting scrap metal materials, using a cutting torch at times as well as hydraulic power tools. Yard Production Workers also work outdoors year round in all different elements including heat, cold, rain and snow. Advancement opportunities are available with hard work and determination. Essential Functions:

• Perform manual labor, such as hand sorting loose materials weighing 3 pounds up to 80 pounds. Ability to perform this work proficiently at a fast pace.
• Perform general maintenance and upkeep of equipment and Yard property to ensure a clean and safe work area
• Ability to learn to operate different power / hydraulic tools and cutting torch.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the job, to include prolonged standing, as well as lifting and moving heavy objects.
• Good attendance Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Sit or stand for extended periods of time, bend at waist, twist upper body, walk, and/or otherwise move around uneven surfaces and on railroad ballast. Climb up and down on equipment. Job Conditions:
  • This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions.
  • Physical hazards such as noise, fumes, and dirt are present due to the equipment, machinery, and scrap as would be found throughout the scrap yard.
  • Safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, and face shields must be worn to eliminate the risks associated with these hazards.
  • Travel is not required for this position
