Our company's measurable growth is in no small part due to our team members in North Carolina, Arkansas, Illinois, and Missouri, who each have a seat at the table to contribute to our successJob Summary:The Production team member in Live Hang performs a variety of manual, repetitive tasks to humanely move live turkeys to the hanging line in preparation for stunning and euthanizing process.Essential duties include:Perform manual, repetitive tasks to open bird cages and move live turkeys into moving shackles to be slaughtered; perform repetitive tasks without the assistance of tools, train to proficiency to rotate through jobs and perform multiple tasks within the department; perform any job in the department at the supervisor's discretion. Assigned job duties may change and vary day-to-day depending upon production needs.Working Conditions:Working conditions vary by department but may include:Temperature fluctuations from hot (ambient outside temperature during summer) to very cold (40 degrees Fahrenheit to ambient outside temperature during winter)Damp-to-wet conditions in the areaLoud/noisy environment (86 - 99 dB)Exposure to live birds, raw meat and associated parts, including but not limited to organs, blood, and fecesWork with loud and noisy machineryWork with or around chemicals/fumes/pungent odorsMandatory overtime or weekend workThere is mandatory seasonal work for approximately 5 to 6 weeks during the months of October and November, which includes working 7 days per weekPhysical Requirements:Standing (up to 8 hours or more per day)Lifting, carrying, climbing, - twisting, pushing, and pulling up to sixty (60) poundsAbility to grip, grasp, and lift repetitively through the course of the workdayOperating handheld and/or mechanical machineryAbility to wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) and hygiene equipment, including but not limited to eye and hearing protection, knuckle pads, gloves, hard hat, hairnet, apron, rain suit, and sleevesWe embrace equal opportunity employment.
