Location: Tulsa, OK (Onsite)Schedule: 9/80 -Job Description: The
role of Production Acceptance Test Plan (ATP) Test Lead is a
critical leadership position combining both technical and systems
engineering skills along with strong leadership competencies. The
Lead ATP Test Engineer will define complex test strategies to
verify mission capabilities while working with a cross-functional
team for the full integration and test of the system. -Essential
Functions: -
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
-Technical Expertise
- In-depth Knowledge of Aircraft Systems: Have a thorough
understanding of the aircraft systems being modified, including
avionics, propulsion, structural components, and software.
- Testing Procedures and Standards: Be well-versed in testing
methodologies, certification requirements, and industry standards
such as DO-178C for software and DO-254 for hardware.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Develop strong analytical and
troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues that arise
during testing. -Leadership and Team Management
- Holding others Accountable: - Work closely with team members
and stakeholders (both direct and matrixed) holding them
accountable to commitments. - Leading with influence will be very
important in this role.
- Effective Communication: Clearly communicate goals,
expectations, and feedback to your team and stakeholders. Ensure
that all team members are aware of their roles and
responsibilities.
- Team Building: Foster a collaborative and inclusive
environment. Encourage teamwork and support the professional growth
of your team members.
- Decision Making: Make informed decisions quickly and
confidently, especially under pressure. Balance technical
considerations with project constraints and safety requirements.
-Project Management
- Planning and Scheduling: Working closely with Production
Operations, develop detailed test plans and schedules, taking into
account internal and customer requirements of the production
schedule. Ensure that all testing activities are aligned with the
overall project timeline and milestones.
- Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively, including
personnel, equipment, and budget. Ensure that all necessary tools
and facilities are available for testing.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks early and develop
mitigation strategies. Monitor risks throughout the project and
adjust plans as necessary. -Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge &
External Stakeholders
- Certification Processes: Understand the certification processes
and requirements of aviation authorities such as the FAA (Federal
Aviation Administration). Work closely with external stakeholders
such as the USG/DCMA.
- Documentation: Ensure that all testing activities are
thoroughly documented. Maintain accurate records of test results,
anomalies, and corrective actions and deliver all customer
milestones (e.g. CDRL) on time. -Continuous Improvement
- Feedback Loops: Establish mechanisms for collecting feedback
from testing activities. Use this feedback to improve processes and
procedures.
- Stay Updated: Keep up with the latest advancements in aircraft
technology, testing tools, and industry best practices. Attend
relevant training, conferences, and workshops. -Stakeholder
Management
- Engage Stakeholders: Regularly update stakeholders on the
progress of the testing activities. Address any concerns and ensure
that their requirements are being met.
- Customer Focus: Understand the needs and expectations of the
customer. Strive to deliver high-quality results that meet or
exceed their expectations. -Safety and Quality Assurance
- Safety Protocols: Prioritize safety in all testing activities.
Ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols and
guidelines. -Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant
experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior
related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of
prior related experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen -Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.An engineering degree in
Systems Engineering, and experience as a Systems Engineer, a Test
Engineer or Engineer supporting production programs are strongly
recommended.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a
multi-disciplined integrated product team (IPT).
