PackagingRed Collar Pet Foods is looking for a Forklift Packaging
Operator to join our exciting new pet food business at one of our

here. Purpose of Role This position is responsible for ensuring
finished products off the packaging line are fulfilled, prepared
for delivery to the appropriate destination in a safe, quality,
timely and cost effective manner. This shift based position is the
final operation stage before placing into the warehouse
requirements for high quality, damage free, on-time, correctly
loaded and accurate delivery to the finished goods warehouse.
Principal Accountabilities Correctly warehouse all palletized and
non-palletized materials from the packaging lines using safe
procedures while maintaining the quality of all products and using
accurate inventory management procedures Operate forklift to move
product within the warehouse to trailers and various other
warehouse locations and operate in a manner maintaining required
sanitation levels; Repair and recoup damaged goods as accidentally
created during product movement and as required; Follow FIFO
principles for finished products Perform accurate inventory
transactions into our warehousing systems; Tag pallets from the
palletizer and record production, organize warehouse and all
warehouse supplies and materials, supply materials to packaging
lines, supply and service palletizer equipment Accurately pick all
products for mixed pallets, properly palletize and stretch wrap
finished skid Report or take appropriate action when quality checks
do not meet set specifications Improve operations through
individual and group problem solving Maintain a clean, safe work
environment that promotes associate safety and product integrity
Must know the product "Hold" criteria of all applicable areas All
associates are responsible for the safety, quality and food safety
in their work area Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Key Functional Skills/Knowledge Operate forklift equipment within
functional area of responsibilities and accountabilities Work as a
team member within the maintenance department to improve the total
reliability of the plant Understand maintenance principles and
develop self and department work practices to promote a proactive
environment Understand and utilize drawings, diagrams and equipment
manufactures instructions Troubleshoot electrical controls, motor
circuits, single and three phase electrical systems Team player
Action oriented Problem solving abilities Strong communication
skills Continuous self-development Must be capable of working at
elevated heights Wearing proper personal protective equipment (bump
cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform) Bending, stooping,
twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing
stairs, and lifting up to 55 lbs. Must be able to adapt to
temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust
dirt and chemicals Forklift assignments require OSHA certification
and getting on and off frequently Qualifications Minimum
Qualifications: Be 18 years of age or older Knowledge in Forklift
operation Several years' experience in Facility maintenance
preferred Good overall knowledge of plant flow, operation and
utilities Excellent knowledge of hand tool application, operation
and repair; Basic ability to operate machine tools Good theoretical
knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits (AC/DC,
single/polyphaser, low/high voltage) and all related equipment both
power and logic Working knowledge of Safety, Quality and Material
Management Systems and procedures Proficient in basic mechanical,
hydraulic and pneumatic Strong interpersonal skills with the
ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude and
minimal supervision High school diploma or equivalent Good basic
math, reading and writing skills Basic knowledge of personal
computers Good problem solving and/or troubleshooting skills Good
communication skills, to access relevant information about
equipment and provide clear information about equipment condition
and status. This would include any unscheduled downtime of
equipment that hampers achieving the production schedule goals Must
be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules
Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English
language Successful completion of a substance screening and
background check Preferred Quali?cations: 3+ years of manufacturing
experience operating a variety of machines 2 years of work
experience within manufacturing, or a technical and/or trade
discipline Experience with CMMS Working Knowledge of food safety,
GMP, GHOP, HACCP, SPC Demonstrated competency in computer and pc
software including MS Office and email Knowledge of inventory
control principles Ability to operate a forklift/OSHA certification
