Control Technician Red Collar Pet Foods is looking for a Quality
Control Technician to join our exciting new pet food business at
one of our manufacturing plants. Who is Red Collar? We are pet

benefits not listed here. Purpose of Role The QC Technician is
responsible and accountable for supporting the Red Collar Pet Foods
Quality and Food Safety principles through monitoring and
inspecting process and packaging processes according to Q&FS
policies and procedures, and QMP standards. They will manage the
testing requirements for the positive release programs. This
position supports R&D with product development. Principal
Accountabilities Adhere to personal safety practices that meet OSHA
& Red Collar Pet Foods standards to ensure a safe environment for
associate and others; Maintain open communication with site safety
committee and site safety manager as appropriate for the role
Complete analytical testing and evaluation of raw materials and
finished products as required by Q&FS policies and procedures
Monitoring and inspecting processes according to Q&FS policies
and procedures, and QMP standards. This includes, but are not
limited to: All Q&FS requirements Receiving of materials
Processing Packaging Sanitation and Microbial Control Quality of
Testing Protocols Record Control Positive Release Programs Actively
participate in continuous improvement projects through proactive
and reactive efforts including incident investigation and
implementation of corrective/preventive actions pertaining to
Q&FS Maintain continuous communication with site functional
teams to assure complete awareness of the manufacturing process in
compliance with Q&FS and performance objectives Participate in
the development, revision, and training of mission critical
competencies as related to the responsibilities and
accountabilities of the position Demonstrate a quality culture in
actions, words and spirit Perform other duties and responsibilities
as assigned by management Responsible for reporting and following
up on any observation that may impact associate safety and/or
product Quality and Food Safety Auditing of production
documentation to evaluate if product is able to be released
Productive and safe work habits Other duties and responsibilities
as assigned Key Functional Skills/Knowledge Knowledge of local,
federal, and industry regulations with regards to: Food Safety
(GMP, HACCP) Food Quality (Product and Process) Red Collar Pet Food
safety policies and procedures. Knowledge of local, federal, and
industry regulations with regards to: Food Safety (GMP, HACCP) Food
Quality (Product and Process) Q&FS testing practices and
procedures, and QMP polices. Q&FS Testing Equipment Team player
Action oriented Problem solving abilities Strong communication
skills Continuous self-development Must be capable of working at
elevated heights and or confined space Wearing proper personal
protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes,
and uniform) Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended
time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55 lbs.
Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes
such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicals Knowledge of local,
federal, and industry regulations with regards to: Food Safety
(GMP, HACCP) Food Quality (Product and Process) Q&FS testing
practices and procedures, QMP polices and SPC Forklift assignments
require OSHA certification and getting on and off frequently
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Effective verbal & written communication skills. Effective
analytical, troubleshooting, and computer skills. Ability to work
independently without supervision as well as within a team setting.

understanding and command of Microsoft programs Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint. Ability to work independently without supervision as
well as within a team setting. Physical requirements: Sufficient
mobility, strength, flexibility, hearing, and sight to access all
job relevant areas and perform routine activities as necessary to
deliver required results. Some pushing/pulling, bending/stooping,
and lifting (up to 55 lbs.) necessary. Must be willing and able to
work and accept varying shifts and schedules Ability to understand
and effectively communicate in the English language Preferred
Qualifications: Minimum of one year food related experience Working
Knowledge of food safety, GMP, GHOP, HACCP, SPC Demonstrated
competency in computer and pc software including MS Office and
email Knowledge of inventory control principles Experience with JD
