Position: Construction Manager IReporting to: Senior Project
ManagerLocation: Bentonville, Arkansas
About the Position:
The Construction Manager I position will support the Campus
Planning Construction team in managing a high volume of projects.
The Construction Manager will oversee and direct construction
projects from conception to completion in a timely and
cost-effective manner. This position offers an excellent
opportunity for an experienced professional with broad knowledge
across the disciplines of residential, commercial,
retail/restaurant, planning, and design.
The ideal candidate will assist in managing multiple construction
projects that are in various stages of design and completion as
well as new project initiation. The Construction Manager will be
responsible for monitoring the progress of projects onsite to
ensure the project is being managed properly and avoid delays. The
Construction Manager will work closely with the Senior Project
Manager.
What you will do:
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee for Civil, Architectural, MEP, Fire Protection, BA,
AV/IT, and FF&E's
- Day to day oversight of new construction projects from planning
to completion
- Work and develop vendors of owner supplied equipment and
services
- Review all work in progress for contractual performance and
quality
- Monitor and report on project progress
- Commissioning and hand off to property management and
ownership
- Continuing development of community and professional
relationships
- Ensure the safety and security of the construction site
- Communicate and negotiate with external partners
Additional Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong skills for project management, contract
administration, budget development/tracking, communication,
interpersonal and leadership skills
- Collaborate with engineers and subcontractors to determine
project needs
- Plan inspections and obtain construction permits
- Reviewing and becoming familiar with the schedule and budget,
and ensuring adherence to both
- Placing orders for materials, and being responsible for
equipment and materials onsite
- Following the project timeline to ensure deadlines are met
- Attend OAC meetings
- Research and estimating for architecture, structural, and
construction for smaller projects, and cross departmental needs
(internal pre-construction services)
Qualifications required for your success:
- BS in Construction Management or equivalent experience in
architecture, civil engineering, or related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction management processes,
means, and methods
- Demonstrated knowledge of building products, construction
details, and relevant building codes, regulations, and quality
standards
- Familiarity with construction management software packages
- Ability to plan and see the "big picture"
- Competent in conflict resolution and crisis management
- Resourceful with a network of advisors and/or the ability to
access appropriate advisors to institute best practices in serving
the needs of the museum
- Strategic thinker, with vision and entrepreneurial spirit, who
anticipates issues, understands outcomes, and effects solutions on
a proactive basis
- Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to clients, colleagues,
and consultants, and exhibit humility, integrity, and exercise
sound judgement
- Relentless in the pursuit of excellence and continuous

- Physical demands: Occasionally, while performing the duties of
this job, the employee is required to travel independently
regionally and in communities served. In the work environment
described below, position requires works at a desk and utilizing a
computer and a telephone for prolonged periods of time and good
eye/hand coordination, bending, and stretching for filing, and
physical stamina to life a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of at
least three feet for art materials storage and preparation and as
appropriate for the demands of the division office. Visual acuity
to review written materials is required for this job.
- Work Environment: Work will be performed in an office
environment, museum spaces, and in communities served. Occasional
evening and weekend hours are required. The noise level in the
Museum work environment is usually low to moderate.
